The story of Romantika Cruises is deeply intertwined with the Ionian Sea and the Palikisanou family, one of the few remaining families of Fiskardo with a long-standing maritime tradition dating back to 1935. Generation after generation, their love for the sea, respect for every journey, and genuine hospitality have remained unwavering values through the years.
About Us
Once upon a time...
Captain Christos, grandfather of today’s captain Gerasimos, was among the first to connect Fiskardo with Ithaca and Lefkada, transporting passengers and cargo with a small wooden boat. By his side was his son, Captain Dionysis, who grew up on the sea, learning to respect and cherish it, inspired by his homeland, Kefalonia, and the beauty of the Ionian waters.
Driven by vision and love for the sea, Captain Dionysis purchased the ROMANTIKA, a traditional 11-meter Greek wooden vessel, with the goal of introducing visitors to the unique beauty of Kefalonia and the surrounding islands. As demand grew, newer and more modern vessels were added, including the IPHIGENIA and later the IPHIGENIA EXPRESS, offering daily cruises to Ithaca and Lefkada from the port of Agia Efimia, providing unforgettable moments of relaxation and exploration.
Captain Dionysis’s two sons, Captain Gerasimos and Captain Christos, played a key role in this journey, inheriting the same love and respect for the sea. In 2011, responding to growing tourism needs and aiming to provide an even higher level of experience, the ROMANTIKA II was launched, marking a new chapter in Romantika Cruises’ story.
Today, Romantika continues its journey under Dreamy Cruises, guided by people who cherish it deeply. Captain Vaggelis, who has written countless stories on the deck of the Romantika as its captain, knows the vessel better than anyone. Together with Vasilis, Thanasis, and Panagiotis, they now take the helm with joy and love. With respect for the past—honoring the people who steered it, the memories it holds, and its rich history—they continue this unique voyage, bringing to the present the same spirit and soul that have always defined Romantika.
